BethNet Wifi Repair is a tool for diagnosing and fixing home and office
Wi-Fi routers. It is published by BethNet.
The app does not collect any personal data. There is no
account to create, no sign-up, and no BethNet server involved. Everything
the app does happens on your device and on your own local network.
What the app accesses, and why
- Location permission — Android requires apps to
hold location permission before it will return Wi-Fi scan results. The app
uses this only so it can list the Wi-Fi networks around you and work out
which channels are congested. Your location is never read for its own
sake, never stored, and never transmitted anywhere.
- Wi-Fi state and Wi-Fi scan results — used to
show nearby networks, signal strength and channel usage so the app can
recommend a better channel. This information stays on your device.
- Your router's admin username and password —
entered by you, and sent only to your own router at its address on your
local network. They are never sent to BethNet or to anyone else. If you
choose to save them, they are encrypted on your device and stored
separately for each router.
- Network access — used to reach your router's
web interface over your local network in order to read its settings and
apply the changes you ask for.
What the app does not do
- It contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting or
tracking services of any kind.
- It does not send your data to BethNet. The app has no BethNet server
to talk to.
- It does not share or sell data with third parties.
- It does not read your files, contacts, messages, camera or
microphone.
Deleting your data
All data the app holds — saved router credentials and app settings
— lives on your device. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings,
or uninstalling the app, removes it completely. There is nothing held on our
side to delete.
Children's privacy
This is a network administration tool intended for adults. It is not
directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from
them.
Changes to this policy
If what the app accesses ever changes, this page will be updated and the
date at the top revised.
